Tixert vs Eventbrite

The room was full and the night went well. Then you looked at what came back, and at how much of the work around the show you did somewhere else — the agreements, the promotion, the question of who actually bought a ticket. Tixert is built around that work, not just the ticket.

The service fee is identical. That is the whole point.

Tixert charges 3.5% + $1.29 per ticket. Eventbrite's published Canadian organizer service fee is 3.5% + C$1.29 per sold ticket. Those are the same numbers, and we are not going to dress that up as a saving. Picking between these two on the service fee is picking between two identical figures.

Same fee, more comes back: contracts, seat maps, flex passes, donations, the embeddable widget, attribution reporting and loyalty points are part of the platform rather than a separate line or a separate tool.

The one place Tixert costs more

Payment processing is where the two differ, and it is worth stating plainly. Eventbrite's published processing fee is 2.9% of the order total, with no fixed component. Tixert's is 2.9% + $0.30 per order — so on any order, Tixert costs $0.30 more than Eventbrite would. Not per ticket. Per order.

On a single $30 ticket bought on its own, that works out at roughly $3.58 on Tixert against $3.28 on Eventbrite. On a four-ticket order the same $0.30 is spread across all four, which is 7.5¢ a ticket. Larger orders dilute it further; single-ticket orders are the worst case, and that worst case is thirty cents.

Worked on one $30 ticket in a single-ticket order, with payment processing applied to the order total including the service fee. Platform fees on both sides are subject to sales tax, which these figures exclude. Your own totals move with ticket price, basket size and your tax rate; the calculator on our pricing page gives your exact total including tax.

Whether any capability is gated behind a plan tier for Eventbrite: not yet verified. We make no claim about it on this page until it is sourced and dated.

You still don't know which channel sold the ticket

You posted, you boosted, a promoter shared it, and the show sold. Which of those did the work is a guess. Attribution reporting records the source on every order, so the next spend goes where the last one actually paid off — and the buyer list it builds is yours, on your own event pages.

Last night's buyers have no reason to come back

Tixert runs two separate point systems, and they do different jobs. Neither is all-or-nothing: points come off the price of a ticket, so a balance can take a few dollars off or cover the whole thing. Tixert Points work across the platform — a buyer holding a balance can say yes to an event they would have skipped on price, and when they put those points toward your event you are paid in full. You gain an attendee and the revenue. Organization Points are yours, optional, and set at whatever rate you choose: a free ticket after ten purchases, a few dollars off every time, or any threshold that suits you. Those come out of your own pocket — Tixert does not reimburse them — so they buy loyalty from the people who keep choosing you rather than adding to the night's revenue. Many platforms approach retention through discounts, memberships or third-party rewards; Tixert builds loyalty into the ticket-buying experience itself.

Each of these exists to take a job off your plate, not to lengthen a feature list.

Stop chasing signatures in your inbox

Contract templates, e-signature and manual payment tracking, so who signed and who was paid lives in one place. See contracts.

Stop drawing the room in a spreadsheet

Rows, tables, sections and holds in a real seat map. See seat maps.

Stop guessing what marketing worked

Attribution reporting puts a source on every order.

Stop rebuilding ticket types for every combination

Flex passes sell a run of dates as a single purchase.

Stop sending buyers away from your own site

The embeddable widget sells from your site, on your domain.

Stop treating repeat buyers like strangers

Platform-wide Tixert Points bring you buyers who might not have come otherwise, and you are paid in full when they spend them. Organization Points are an optional reward you set the rate for yourself. Either can come off part of a ticket price, not just all of it.

Frequently asked questions

When another ticketing platform may be a better fit

Eventbrite has a stronger established consumer discovery marketplace than Tixert does. People browse Eventbrite looking for something to do, and it runs discovery as a product in its own right — see eventbrite.com/features/event-discovery. If reaching an audience through an existing ticket marketplace is your primary requirement, Eventbrite may be the better fit for you today. That is a real strength and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Different organizers weigh things differently, and a competitor being strong at something does not make us weak. Tixert is built by people who have organized events and done the marketing for them, around organizer value, marketing intelligence, hands-on relationships, and connecting more of an organizer's business than issuing a ticket. If your audience mostly comes from your own channels — your list, your socials, your promoters, your venue's regulars — then knowing which of those sold the ticket, keeping that relationship afterwards, and having the agreements and the seat map in the same place is the thing that pays, and that is what we build for.
